Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Burnbound: the website, the dashboard, the API and the @burnbound/mcp package. Burnbound is run by [Nombre o razón social pendiente], with the details listed in the Legal notice. By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms. If you use Burnbound on behalf of a company, you confirm that you can bind it, and "you" means that company.
1. What Burnbound does
Burnbound is a spending control plane for AI agents that pay x402 APIs. Before an agent pays, Burnbound checks the payment against the rules you set (allowed hosts, a maximum per payment, a daily cap, networks and assets, human approval above a threshold) and records every decision in an audit log. Only payments your policy allows are signed.
Burnbound is not a bank, a payment institution, an exchange or a custodian. It does not hold, receive, transmit or convert money or crypto-assets on your behalf, and it is not a party to any payment. It is not the x402 protocol, a facilitator or a seller.
2. Your wallet stays yours
Burnbound works with a wallet you bring. It never stores a wallet private key and never holds funds. You choose how payments are signed:
- Client-side signing: the key stays on your machine, in your operating system's keychain or a local file. Burnbound only knows the wallet's address.
- Coinbase CDP: the key stays with Coinbase. Burnbound stores your CDP API credentials, encrypted, and uses them only to request signatures for the payments your policy allows.
- External signer: a signing service you run and control.
You are responsible for your wallet, its keys, its funds and your accounts with third parties such as Coinbase. Keep in the wallet only what your agents should be able to spend. The security and trust model explains what each mode protects and where the protection ends.
3. Payments made by your agents
Payments are made between you and the seller. Your wallet authorizes them and the seller, or its facilitator, settles them on a public blockchain. Please keep in mind:
- On-chain payments are final. Burnbound cannot cancel, reverse or refund a payment once it is signed. Any claim about a purchase (price, quality, delivery or refund) is between you and the seller.
- You set the limits. Burnbound applies the policy you configure. A wrong host, an overly high cap or an approval granted by mistake are your responsibility.
- Limits reduce risk; they do not remove it. Client-side signing is cooperative: an agent that can run commands on the same machine could read the key and pay without asking Burnbound. Out-of-policy detection works after the fact and cannot block a transfer. Payments in flight at the same time can make the monthly managed-spend limit overshoot slightly. Network outages, seller errors or bugs can also affect a payment.
- Your agents act for you. Payments and requests your agents make with your keys are treated as yours.
4. Your account
You need an account to use the dashboard. Give accurate information, keep your password, organization keys and agent keys secret, and revoke any key you think is exposed. You are responsible for what happens under your account and with your keys. You must be at least 18 years old.
5. Plans, prices and billing
- Free: no charge, with the limits shown on the pricing page.
- Pro: a monthly subscription at the price shown on the pricing page when you subscribe. Prices are in euros and do not include VAT, which is added when it applies.
- Payment: you pay through Stripe Checkout. Stripe processes your card; Burnbound never sees or stores card numbers. The subscription is charged in advance and renews every month until you cancel.
- Cancellation: cancel at any time from your plan page in the dashboard (Stripe Customer Portal). Pro stays active until the end of the period already paid and then your organization moves to Free. Except where the law requires otherwise, we do not refund partial periods.
- Failed payments: if a renewal cannot be charged, Stripe will retry; if it still fails, your organization moves to Free.
- Changes: we will tell you about any price change at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal. You can cancel before it takes effect.
- Consumers: if you buy Pro as a consumer, you have 14 calendar days from the purchase to withdraw. If you use Pro during that period, you are asking for the service to start straight away, and if you withdraw you pay only for the days used.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Burnbound to break the law or sanctions rules, to launder money or finance illegal activity, to pay for illegal goods or services, to attack or overload the service or other systems, to get around plan limits or rate limits, or to access data that is not yours. We may suspend an account that does.
7. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Burnbound available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or a specific level of service on the Free and Pro plans. We may change, add or remove features. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance and you can cancel.
8. Your data and our software
Your policies, agents, payment records and audit log are yours. You let us process them only to provide, secure and improve the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. The Burnbound software (including @burnbound/mcp), brand and website belong to their owner. You may use them only to use the service, under a non-exclusive and non-transferable license that ends when your account does.
9. Liability
Burnbound is provided as is. To the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for payments your agents make or try to make, for the conduct of sellers, facilitators or wallet providers, for the operation of blockchains, or for losses caused by keys or credentials kept outside our systems.
- We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits, lost data or business interruption.
- Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused it.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any right a consumer has under the law that cannot be waived.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Burnbound at any time; to close your account and delete its data, write to [Email de contacto pendiente]. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after notice when the breach can be fixed. Sections 3, 8 and 9 continue to apply after the account is closed.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify you by email or in the dashboard at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then.
12. Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes go to the courts of the owner's registered address, except that a consumer may always go to the courts of their own residence.
